  • Bishopbriggs Media Centre About Us

Why we created a not for profit company to enable us to eventually buy the 19 business units on the site Make an appointment to view Why a Scottish Charity aims to own this building: For more than 40 years, Cue and Review has helped people living with sight loss stay connected to the news, information and communities that many of us take for granted. Every day, our volunteers transform printed information into accessible audio, helping blind and partially sighted people across Scotland remain informed, independent and connected. In 2004, we faced a significant challenge. Without a permanent home, the future of our recording studios, volunteers and services was uncertain. To protect the charity's future, we established Deanwood Ltd, our not-for-profit subsidiary, with a clear purpose: to secure a long-term base for Cue and Review while creating a sustainable source of income that could support our work for generations to come. At the time, much of the building was underused and many offices stood empty. Over the past two decades, we have worked alongside our tenants to transform the site into a thriving business and community hub. Today, Bishopbriggs Media Centre provides accommodation for a diverse mix of local businesses, charities, social enterprises and community organisations, creating a vibrant environment where enterprise and community benefit work hand in hand. Unlike many commercial office developments, Bishopbriggs Media Centre exists for a single purpose: to create a sustainable income stream that supports services for people living with sight loss. Every occupied office helps strengthen the long-term future of Cue and Review. Any surplus generated by the centre is reinvested in supporting the charity's mission, helping us maintain our Talking Newspaper service, develop digital inclusion projects, support volunteers, invest in accessible technology and ensure that vital information remains available to people who cannot easily access printed text. Our tenants are not simply renting office space. They become part of a community that creates lasting social impact. We are proud to support local businesses wherever possible. Many of the contractors, suppliers and tradespeople who help maintain and improve the centre are based in Bishopbriggs and the surrounding area, helping to keep investment within the local economy and strengthen community connections. Today, our ambition is clear. Cue and Review aims to secure full ownership of the building and ensure that this important community asset remains dedicated to public benefit for future generations. By bringing the property fully into the charity's ownership, we can safeguard a reliable source of income that will continue supporting services for people living with sight loss, creating local employment opportunities, expanding volunteering opportunities and strengthening our role as a community hub. The Bishopbriggs Media Centre demonstrates what can happen when charity and business work together towards a shared purpose. What began as a solution to protect the future of a small Scottish charity has become a lasting community asset. Every office occupied, every event hosted and every organisation based here helps support a charity that has been changing lives for more than four decades. When you choose the Bishopbriggs Media Centre, you are doing more than renting workspace. You are helping to reduce isolation, improve access to information and support a charity that enables people living with sight loss across Scotland to remain connected to the world around them. • How would you use this space at the heart of Bishopbriggs

Are you looking to space share, have an accessible downstairs unit to yourself or partner with another charity on projects? Check out our space Current Availability Make an appointment to view Please Share Like many charities, Cue and Review "Print Speaking to the Blind" is going through a period of change. With the cost of living crisis, we are looking at the best use of our facilities. Do we need the 1793 square feet that we currently occupy on the ground floor? Could we work with other local charities to use this as a downstairs hot desking facility, or could we rent the space to commercial tenants and use a much smaller office upstairs? The total space rental, excluding gas and electricity, would be £2689.50 per month. If you are interested in being that commercial tenant or are curious as a social enterprise or charity in sharing the space, don't hesitate to contact our Managing Director, Alastair McPhee, to discuss how you could use the area and what you would bring to the building.
